  • Everything is going beautifully. I’m very proud of my roomie Serena. Her life is going very well for her, so Praise the Lord for blessing her with the best! I’m going to miss the UCR scene a whole lot….but life moves on and things change…that’s the way it is, right?

I miss New York so much…especially my German/Canadian/British fling. UGHHHH i have to re-emphasize how hot this male specimen was! He was smart, hot, driven, hot, elloquent, hot, well mannered, hot, articulate, hot, witty, hot, sweet, hot, cute, and did i mention hot?  O well. I want to go to Bonn, Germany with UCRMUN but I won’t be able to cuz I’m transfering. Sigh.

Nikhil said he was going to work it for me. Hopefully I’ll start establishing an income through Princeton Review. This would help me out loads since I need to take LSAT classes anyway….and if I teach SAT II classes, I’ll get a $700 discount including a very high wage…which will probably result in free LSAT classes. yay! Nikhil is my babe for life!  I still need money for traveling this summer, does anyone have any suggestions?

Can’t wait for installs. It’ll be so fun.

  • New York was off the hook! Never been in the presence of so many hot and intellegent foreign boys in one week. Although we didn’t win an award, it was an excellent expereince. We had the team meet up with a specialist from CARE international and media came to take pictures of us. I’m proud of our team, its just too bad Zambia the back-stabber gained an award, cuz they sure didn’t earn it.  I love UCRMUN…its too bad I won’t be around next year. Planning on going to SF this weekend to visit my aunt, return some books and give tips to my MUNFW team. I’ve got to find a baby pink dress for her (my aunt’s) wedding cuz she wants me to be her maid of honor…which means I have to throw a bridal shower, find favors and help her with everything. How exciting. Life is good.

This summer I’ll be traveling! Hitting up Hong Kong, Mainland China, and then possibly more asian countries with Tom. New York and Philly will be in the next couple of months, so I have stuff to look forward to! Okay I gotta stop bumming around in my PJ’s and go to campus to take care of some things…then sign up for LSAT classes. horray!!!

  • Hey’all from Nashville, Tennessee! Well, its spring break now and I just got back from Atlanta, Georgia. I got an amazing oppertunity to meet with all the head honchos from CARE International, and to really pick at their brains. They were all very nice and very well versed with everything I needed to know. It was really nice. Adie, the donor relations manager took me out to Thelma’s to get some real southern cookin. Their sweet potatos were sooooooo scrumptious…and the fried chicken was amazing. :) Atlanta is much similar to LA, but their visibility situation surpasses ours by 10-fold.

Let’s start from the begining. I took the red eye flight out to Georgia and slept all the way until landing. Got off the plane, freshened up, got my luggage and took the railway system called MARTA. It’s a very good thing that Atlanta believes in escalators…VERY steep ones, might I add. I was supposed to meet Adie at the station, but we ended up waiting in two different locations. It was quite traumatizing because a nice man came up to me to offer me help, but after not much help, and an attempt to misdirect me, he soon exposed his pan-handling identity. I gave him 2 dollars for his efforts to “help” me, but it was more of my effort to have him leave me alone. Having called the headquarters twice, I decided to hail a cab and pay to get to my destination. The 5 dollar cab ride successfully brought me to the headquarters of CARE and Adie was there to greet me as we ironed out our situation of miscommuncation. I was pleased to find that she had set up a whole cubical for me to work out of for the day, and she had a very eventful agenda planned for me–hopping from meeting to meeting, barely giving me enough time to breathe in between….and on top of that I was still a bit jet-lagged. But nonetheless, she had me meeting with the rights program coordinator, food specialists, vice president, media relations, etc…the whole nine yards. They were all very friendly and hospitable, and I felt extremely important! It was very nice. When 4:00 rolled around the corner, Adie escorted me back to the MARTA, where a random black thuggish guy decided to hit on me. Flattering, but creepy. So I hopped the MARTA successfully and barely ontime to catch my flight to Tennessee.

It was such a dramatic change…from a hustling and bustling Atlanta to a calm and chill Nashville. I gathered my belongings and awaited for my cousin’s arrival. When she got to the airport, we hopped onto the Grayline which took us to the heart of Nashville. From the bus stop I hiked all the way to her dorm in my business attire and 3 inch boots, which was not pleasant, but I managed. The first evening was nice and mellow we went out for burritos at Qdoba, which, may I mention–are GINORMOUS. The next day I just spent bumming around her dorm/suite watching the first two seasons of Sex and the City. Never watched that show until now…It’s quite intrigueing, but Carrie has too big of a drama queen complex…then again I guess it makes for a good element for the series’ sake. After the second season, Pam and I made dinner and I ventured onto the gym. My cousin has a horrendous schedule so she left me to roam and explore without real restraints. It’s nice.

This morning, I hopped from class to class with her and had lunch at their pub. I had a mad craving for fries and ketchup beacuse of my dream the last night, so we had to go and appease that yearning. Now here I am…I just finished a phone interview for the Chinese Daily Newspaper and responding to 3 day-neglected emails. Thinking about diving into another season of Sex and the City after this update, but that would mean I’d be glued to the tellie for a while….maybe the gym again. Eh who knows. Don’t miss me too much! I’ll be heading for Florida on the 26th then I’ll be back in sunny California on the 28th before spring quarter starts. a bientot!

  •  Happy Birthday, Me!….and Melissa, and Simon, and…umn Happy Deathday, Caesar! So far, I’ve been studying for my exam and writing my last paper. How eventful…yay!!! Way to turn twenty.

  • Yay! I just did a radio interview with KNX 1070 about UCRMUN and CARE International. I wonder when they’ll air it…. O well, it was pretty short, but it was quite thrilling.  So anyway…let’s see what there is to update about….Two more weeks until I head off to the other side of the States, Three more weeks until New York, and Four more weeks until  SF. Finals week is coming up soon, but no frets because I only have two this quarter …granted one lands on my birthday, but what can you do. Chapter 8 and I will have a hot date as I turn twenty. I kinda miss going home….my grandma isn’t too thrilled about Unagi, so never shall the two paths meet again…o well I really do miss my sister though maybe she can come visit me during her spring break. I guess thats it for now…been terribly busy and haven’t had the time to update this stinkin thing…just wanted to tell y’all to tune into KNX 1070! adios.

  • Well, its been a long weekend, but it has been extremely productive.

drove up to Berkeley on Friday at 4am and arrived at 10, drove to SF, had clam chowder in a bread bowl for lunch, interviewed CARE International, hiked to my parking spot only to find my car towed, hailed a cab and reclaimed my car for $181, hung around San Jose for about 5 hours, drove back  towards So Cal on the same day at 11pm, arrived in Riverside at 9am, slept for 1 hour, went to work promoting John Freida’s new line called brilliant brunette, but felt like a blonde cuz I had dyed my hair pitch black on Thursday–right before the gig–but it doesn’t matter they’re still paying me.

    Horray for three sentence updates!

  • Hello, everyone! Thanks to Matt, I have a new heart throb and his name is Unagi. :) Here are pictures of my new pup. He has a really good temperment and is very shy. He’s only 2 months old so he can’t fuss too much when I bathe him  but he gets super scared  I love him and so does everyone else in the world!

    unagi 027

Hello, my name is Unagi. Yesterday I met my best friend Diana. My name is Unagi beacuse it means Eel in Japanese and Eel backwards is Lee, which is Diana’s last name. Now I’m going to tell you about my new home.

    unagi 021

I am semi potty trained on newspaper, and my love, Diana thinks I’m the most brilliant dog in the world. But sometimes I still have accidents.

    unagi 022

Like this morning, I crawled up on Diana’s bed and got her angry cuz I wee-wee-ed all over her blankets.  That’s not my good angle, it makes me look a little chubby, but oh well, I have complete confidence that I will melt your heart when you meet me.  I was really sorry about this morning’s accident so I decided to take a nap on her carpet instead.

    unagi 015

It’s still very comfortable…I can sleep almost anywhere!

    unagi 030

But Diana forgives because she knows that I’m still learning. We love each other very much, and I will try my best to learn everything she tries to teach me beacuse she has loads of goodies that I want, and bribery works very well for me! Yesterday we went shopping at PetSmart and she got me tons of goodies! Yum Yum! Goodies Goodies!!! Umn..but I don’t really like my leash…I wish she hadn’t bought that….Oh and she bought lots of hygeine stuff beacuse she loves it when I smell good!

  • YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Nikhil and I are going to KICK some bootay at Nationals! New York, Here We Come!!!!!

February 9, 2004

  • High School conference is finally over, and surprisingly it’s kind of saddening. Major props to Mr. Min Tun for seeing it all through. So here’s my weekend in summarized detail:

First day of conference, we get to meet all the delegates and start listening to them speak. So many demonstrated incredible speaking skills and I was thoroughly impressed.  I went home, did some evaluations until 4am and decided to take a 2 hour nap for the next day. 6am rolls around the corner and I literally attack my alarmclock without really realizing it…so I go back to sleep. Next thing you know its 8:30. Raees calls my cell phone and wakes me up: “Hello,” I answer. ”What time is it?” asks the voice on the other end. I’m thinking to myself that this is some kind of joke because I don’t recognize the voice on the other end. I roll over to look at my alarmclock, ”eight thirty,” I respond, “WHY?” I’m still wondering who this strange male voice is on the other line. “Where are you?” he asks. Suddenly it dawns on me that its Raees and that I’m supposed to be at Bourns for highschool confrence. “SHIT!” I respond, “I’m coming right now!!!!”  I hang up, scramble to get ready, and rush to school. I park illegally at the nearest lot next to bourns, but I don’t care. I run to committee and everything is cool. Saturday was a super long day and it was extremely hard to do evaluations. Min Tun wouldn’t let me sneak out of the dance, which was surprisingly pretty poppin’, and forced me to dance. Him and Rob attacked me in so many ways it was so unfunny. But good times, good times. I passed on 9 really good position papers for Johnny to weed through and we narrowed it down to 5, which was my limit on awards. Went home again in deep contemplation.  On Sunday I made sure to wake up super early so I could buy all the kiddos donuts for the end. Raees was pushing them hard and they needed something sweet for all the hard work and effort they had put into it. We ended up finishing super early which was good because it gave them time to breathe, and for me to make final decisions. We only went through two and a half topics: UN Reform and Emergency Topic we finished with passing resolutions. The third one one on World Environmental Issues we went through and they turned in resolutions. SO in reality we went through three topics! Thats amazing productivity! I’m just a little disappointed we couldn’t go through the third topic in more depth cuz I think a lot more ideas could have been hashed out and refined. We sent out our rapporteur to the security council and vebhore gave me excellent reviews, and they came back with all smiles. All in all, my kids did wonderfully, and I’m just sad I couldn’t give out even more awards.  Thinking about writing to their advisors about their delegates’ performance and specified tips to help them sharpen their sword for competition…

So that was my weekend: a superb experience and a parking ticket. Oh, and a delegate just asked me to be his valentine over email, which i thought was pretty funny, but so unappropriate?  I’ll just send him his position paper and scoresheets for the valentines day  Now it’s time for the daily grind of school once again…and to prep for external conferences! I hope I get placed on the team, Cuz New York  rocks!!

WOw. my grandma just called me to say she misses me back home. weird.

February 5, 2004

  • Ok I guess I’ve left you all in the dark for a pretty long time. oh well too bad. good bye!

Hahaha jk. Well I’ve been super busy lately, and doing a good job of staying away from the world of xangas and wasting away my time….but I have returned.

High School conference is coming up and I’m chairing the GA Plenary committee. I’m pretty excited about it cuz we’re covering some pretty interesting topics….Global Environmental Issues, Post Conflict Nation Building and UN Reform. I hope the delegates choose to go through the topics in that order. which reminds me…I have tons and tons of position papers to grade…which I am not looking foward to doing cuz I already caught a person plagerizing.

Humn let’s back track. Yesterday I lost my keys after going to the gym with Tom so I had to ask Allen to bring my spare. Seriously I don’t know why I’m so absentminded with my things…last wednesday I almost lost my Fendi bag and that gave me a scare….I was running around backtracking my steps and when I returned to the meeting, Ben told me that Johnny had picked it up. Phew! But I wasn’t so lucky this time…paranoid about having my car stolen (cuz I’m the brains who decided to get a RSX keychain to accompany my set of RSX keys…so whoever found them would only have to check all the RSXs out there and easily take my car for a joyride..ugh if i ever find my keys that keychain is coming off!) so I sat in the cold next to my car eating sunflower seeds with Johnny and talked about various things that irk us in life. It was pretty fun I guess.

Besides the daily grind of classes, it was my Uncle’s birthday…and Karen Fu’s birthday on Feb. 1st. My uncle’s girlfriend got him a powershot s400! holy moley! I only know cuz I helped her get it through Matt who works at Best Buy for $360. THEN he asks me how much she spent and I was obligated to tell him cuz he’s my uncle and he wanted to reciprocate the gift to her for valentines day with something of equal or greater value. Sigh. talk about high rollers.  I’m just happy for him cuz Jinny is such a nice girl.

Charlyne’s birthday was on the 24th of January and we went to Max’s for dinner. It’s a flip restaurant with awesome fried chicken…but Momma Yue makes better adobo….ummm i’m craving some pansit. We watched Along Came Polly after….which was a pretty funny movie, but it’s one of those movies you’ll forget about in 2 months…Paxton (char’s brother) trips me out…can’t explain, he just does. Chinese New Year was fun. My daddy made my favorite dish for dinner (Lettuce Wraps)  and I got a good amount of laisee (red envelopes with money inside)…so that made January very nice.

humn…what else….Matt also spoke at AACF, on which I thought he did a very good job, so praise God for that. I’m planning on getting a puppy/dog so I’m preparing my apartment for it…I’m thinking of names so if you have any suggestions, please drop a comment or something.

Let’s see ….well there’s plenty more, but I don’t feel like sharing….gotta get back to reading those blasted papers and studying for my world politics midterm! adios.
