  • The uncertainties in life can be so daunting at times, and sometimes I feel as though the decisions I want to make are those that may cause me to fall victim in this vicious game we’re all trapped in. It’s just a matter of which you are: preditor or prey. As for now, I have to head to class. Yippee!

Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live your way some distant day into the answers,” ~Dont Gotno Clue

  • hi di, something i wrote today in my xanga…

i tried out BSF–Bible Study Fellowship–this week (Pasadena location and San Gabriel location) for the first time and the messages/lectures were so awesome and great reminders. Genesis 15… i was reminded that God’s promise to abraham of having a child was not fulfilled until 25 years later. 25 years of waiting for God to deliver on His promise. imagine us, if we have to wait more than a day, we’re already getting impatient and feeling doubt. we have to try to remember that what He has promised, He will do, in His own perfect timing.

one cool quote from the lady who spoke: “satan wants to tempt us to believe that doubt/pain/disappointment is our destination. our final stop. but God says, ‘doubt is just one of the stops along the way to faith.’” and i believe, to freedom in Christ too.

i also learned that things that plant doubt and unbelief in us are:
    -dread/fear
    -disappointment
    -delay

when we are fearful of something, we tend to think is God really with us and is He really in control? when we are disappointed or get hurt, we think, God why did you not protect me from that? when there is a delay when we pray for something, we think, God doesn’t care about me. but all these things are just lies, satan’s temptation…it’s so easy to fall into this trap of thinking.

God is -always- in complete control, no matter our circumstances. what we see is *not * always what we will get. God has a plan. do we believe in Him and His faithfulness? are we hanging onto the promises in His Word? The God of the Bible, Jesus, our personal Savior, is good on His word. Holy Spirit, may You help us to trust You more in times of doubt and hardship.

    some other cool quotes:
“doubt is faith that we know more than God.”

“In every delay, trust and obey.”

“God isn’t trying to make us comfortable in this lifetime, He is trying to make us more like Christ.”

BSF is international. it’s so awesome the work God is doing through these volunteers. May He bless them and all who desire to learn more about Him.
